One Product Family, Different Material Solutions

We offer several impregnation systems for different industrial requirements:

01/

Resin Impregnated Carbon Graphite – Focus: Sealing, reduced permeability, chemical compatibility. Suitable for mechanical seal rings, pump components, bearings, bushings, and chemical-process equipment. Best when fluid compatibility and reduced permeability are the main concerns.

02/

Antimony Impregnated Carbon Graphite – Focus: Mechanical strength, hardness, wear resistance. Used for seal rings, bearings, bushings, wear rings, and rotating equipment components. Best when mechanical load, hardness, and wear are major selection factors.

03/

Copper Impregnated Carbon Graphite – Focus: Strength and thermal/electrical conductivity. Suitable for electrical components, thermal-management parts, sliding contacts, and specialized industrial carbon parts.

04/

Silver Impregnated Carbon Graphite – Focus: Specialized electrical, thermal, and sliding applications. Used where high conductivity justifies the higher material cost.

Standard Carbon vs. Impregnated Carbon Graphite

Not every carbon application requires impregnation. The decision should be based on the required performance.

Base Graphite Matters Too

Impregnation is only one part of the material—Final performance also depends on the underlying graphite structure.

Graphite Particle Structure:Affects grain size, density, porosity, and overall material uniformity.

Mechanical Strength:Varies with graphite grade and influences load-bearing capability.

Two impregnated materials using the same impregnant can behave differently if their graphite substrates differ. For OEM applications, we evaluate base graphite + impregnation system together—not the impregnant as an isolated specification.

Thermal Expansion

Different substrates expand differently under temperature, affecting dimensional stability.

Electrical Resistivity

Base graphite determines the starting resistivity before impregnation.

Machinability

Some grades machine more readily than others, affecting component cost and quality.

Product Forms Available

Impregnated carbon graphite can be supplied in different forms according to your manufacturing process:

Carbon / Graphite Rods:Suitable for machining into seal rings, bearings, bushings, sleeves, and wear components. Available in different impregnation grades.

Graphite Blanks:Supplied per required dimensions and machining allowance for customers who prefer in-house machining.

Semi-Finished Components:Can be evaluated based on drawings for customers who want to reduce machining workload.

Finished Carbon Components:Drawing-based production of finished carbon-graphite components for OEM applications.

Send your 2D drawing, 3D model, or existing sample for technical review.

From Material Selection to Production

We recommend a different purchasing process for new impregnated carbon applications.

Step 1 — Define the Application

Tell us what component you are manufacturing and where it will be used.

Step 2 — Review Operating Conditions

We evaluate:

Medium + Temperature + Pressure + Speed + Load

Step 3 — Compare Material Families

Where appropriate, we compare resin, antimony, copper or other impregnated options.

Step 4 — Confirm Material & Dimensions

The selected grade and blank dimensions are confirmed before production.

Step 5 — Sample / Trial

A small quantity can be evaluated before mass production for new applications.

Step 6 — Production

The agreed material and dimensions are manufactured according to the purchase specification.

Step 7 — Inspection & Export

Products are inspected, packed and prepared for international shipment.

FAQ

Q: What is impregnated carbon graphite?

A: Impregnated carbon graphite is carbon or graphite whose accessible pore structure has been filled or modified with another material, such as resin, antimony, copper or silver. The impregnation changes selected characteristics of the graphite for specific industrial applications.

Q: Why is carbon graphite impregnated?

A: Impregnation is used to modify properties such as permeability, chemical resistance, mechanical strength, hardness, wear behavior or electrical/thermal performance.

Q: Which impregnated carbon is best for mechanical seals?

A: There is no single grade that is best for every mechanical seal. Resin and antimony impregnated carbon are both used in selected seal applications, but the appropriate choice depends on the medium, pressure, temperature, shaft speed, seal design and mating material.

Q: Can you supply finished carbon components?

A: Yes. Drawing-based production of semi-finished or finished carbon components can be evaluated for OEM applications.

Q: What information should I send for a quotation?

A: The most useful information is:
Product form + material requirement + dimensions + quantity + working medium + temperature + pressure + speed/load + drawing.
The more application information you provide, the more accurately we can recommend a material.

Q: What is the MOQ?

A: For standard impregnated carbon graphite products, the starting order quantity can be 10 kg. Customized products or special grades may require a different minimum quantity.

Q: Can I purchase samples before a bulk order?

A: Yes. Small trial quantities can be arranged for new applications, subject to the requested material and dimensions.

Q: What is the typical production lead time?

A: Standard impregnated carbon products generally require 7–15 working days after specifications and order details are confirmed. Customized products and larger quantities may require additional production time.

Q: What payment methods are available?

A: The standard payment method for export orders is T/T. L/C at sight can also be considered for qualified orders.

Q: What international trade terms can you offer?

A: Quotations can be provided under commonly used terms such as EXW, FOB, CFR and CIF.
